Cognition through
sound & computation.

I study perception, learning and memory through computational models.
I am an independent researcher working on cognition, computation and auditory perception, based in İzmir, Türkiye. I develop models, run computational experiments and design behavioural studies.
My central project, Musical Intelligence, makes the path from acoustic inputs to listening-related calculations inspectable. I am interested in what a model explains, which assumptions drive its behaviour, and what evidence would make me revise it.
My research sits between computational cognition and NeuroAI. Sound gives me material I can measure and transform; the broader questions concern how brains learn, predict and make sense of experience.
I trained in composition at Dokuz Eylül University and Boston University, where I completed my M.M. with Fulbright support. Composition gave me a detailed way of working with sound; it continues alongside my research.
