From sound
to a testable question.

I build inspectable models, analyse their responses to controlled sound transformations, and design studies of perception, learning and memory.

Musical Intelligence

Musical Intelligence connects acoustic structure, temporal context and explicit hypotheses about listening. I develop the architecture and use computational tests to examine what its outputs depend on.

From Birdsong
to Music

A blackbird phrase becomes synthetic, flute and piano renderings. This computational pilot examines how the model responds to changes in sound and to the reference used for comparison.

What changes when the listener learns?

The same recording can be heard after different experiences. My proposed studies ask how learned expectations shape musical pleasure, and how learned voice cues may support speech recognition.
